Po is a soft and fat panda (as any good panda should be) who once had a wild dream about joining an elite martial arts group known as the Furious Five. A new fighter is to be added to their ranks.

Being a kung fu fanatic, Po leaves his father's noodle restaurant to peek in on the selection process and accidentally becomes the chosen one. Feeling the choice was wrong, the other members of the team at first try to drive away the flabby panda as he has no aptitude for fighting.

But the prophecy holds when a ferocious enemy comes to the forbidden city and the laziest animal in all of China becomes ... Kung Fu Panda.
